Above all, do not drain by suction. 2 Clean: Thoroughly clean the oil cooler and the engine side filter with brake cleaner and dry the parts with compressed air. Clean the vacuum pump screen with brake cleaner and blow dry with compressed air. IMPORTANT: If the oil appears polluted, you must first flush the system before continuing. On vehicles with a total of less than 60,000 km, the low engine sump must be cleaned. On vehicles with a total of more than 60,000 km, the oil strainer must be changed. 3 Check/replace oil pipe: Replace the oil feed pipe with a new one. Replace the hollow screw of the oil inlet and its seals. Replace the oil return pipe, its connection and its seals. 4 Fill with oil and test: Replace the oil filter with a new one. Refit the drain plug with a new gasket. Fill the engine oil to the correct level. Position the oil return hose in a suitable collection pan. Start the engine and let it idle for 60 seconds. The amount of oil flowing must be greater than 500ml during the space of 60 seconds. IMPORTANT: Do not run the engine if the oil level is below the minimum. 5 Fill the oil: Correctly connect the new oil return pipe to the turbo. Fill the engine oil up to the required amount. Let the engine idle until the oil pressure warning light goes out max. 1 minute, Stop the engine and leave for 5 minutes. Check the oil level on the dipstick. This must be close to the maximum, without exceeding it. 6 Additional checks: Visual inspection of the injectors, if there is a trace of soot, this may indicate that an injector is leaking. Fix the problem before continuing. Check the EGR valve. In case of pollution, it must be cleaned or replaced. Check the particle filter and replace it if necessary. Checks to be carried out before replacing your turbo and to prevent possible breakage following replacement: Check the injector seals. Remove the air inlet duct to the turbocharger in order to ascertain whether or not the compressor wheel nut is present: – If the nut is present, check the axial and longitudinal play and whether the fins do not touch the compressor housing. If the nut is missing, it must absolutely be found before refitting the new turbocharger. (Symptom of turbo seizure). Check the vacuum pump and its inlet screen filter. If too dirty, it must be replaced, otherwise cleaned. Check all the hoses and ducts including the exhaust and check that there are no foreign bodies, shrinkage or pinching. Remove and clean the air exchanger (intercooler) and the breather system. All of the filtration must be replaced: oil filter, air filter, strainer, banjo bolt, vacuum pump if the screen is too clogged.
