MTC Motorsport BMW N54 135i 335i Stepped Front Mount Intercooler, also fits many other models. We have engineered these intercoolers using a bar and plate core matched to our flowed cast end tanks. This is the most efficient way to keep the intake temperatures low. The MTC intercooler features massive 5 competition core with flowed cast end tanks and increased the surface area. Ability to deal with over 600bhp. This intercooler provides near 100% more volume and 100% more surface area than the standard intercooler. The intercooler is a direct fit and there are some great videos on YouTube to follow. However, professional installation is recommended and should take approximately 1-2 hours. We have tested our intercoolers on a few vehicles and found they have absolutely fantastic results. The IAT compared to the standard intercooler are reduced massively which means you get consistent increased performance. The standard intercooler and the MTC intercooler both had intercooler intake temperatures of between 135-140 degrees through 5 runs on the road. At the other side of the intercooler into the engine the standard intercooler temps were between 75-80 degrees whereas the MTC intercooler temperatures were in the high 20’s over all 5 runs. We would go as far as to say this is the best intercooler on the market for these models.

The MTC intercooler features a massive 5 competition core with flowed cast end tanks and 4 rows extra at the front to increase the surface area. We have added a fin to the inside of the casting on the intake side to direct some of the airflow up through the top 4 extra cores. This intercooler weighs 11.5kg and provides near 100% more volume and 90% more surface area than the standard intercooler. Dimensions are 520mm X 215mm X 145mm which is a huge increase on the standard intercooler. For comparison, these dimensions are the exact same as the Wagner dimensions. This hose is handmade from 6 layers of silicone and is fluoro lined to prevent discolouration. It provides a much sharper throttle response and massive improvement on torque. We have seen some surprising power gains with just this installed alone. Around 8-10whp to be precise. It also sounds great with some great turbo noise. This kit will fit the following models with B58 engine. 6-ply intake hose (very strong). Aluminium machined AFM housing and bracket. 55 Tuning custom made B58 heat shield. Bolts and clamps needed to install. Fitting should take no longer than 10-15 minutes and is easy to do.

Forge Motorsport Inlet Hose for BMW B58 (M140i, M240i, M340i, M440i). When looking at the B58 engine within the M140i/240i/340i/440i engine bay it’s clear that BMW had left some room for modification within the inlet tract, the sound resonator and accordion ribs cause significant turbulence to the airflow causing a detriment to the engine’s potential performance. By removing these, and replacing it with five-ply silicone construction you gain a host of performance upgrades, including. Significant power gain of over 9bhp engine power and 7nm of torque. Multi ply silicone construction improves longevity of FMINLH25 over that of the OEM hose. 5 ply silicone construction will be able to handle strain of engine mapping far better than OEM hose. Fitting with no specialist tools in approximately half an hour. The hoses are suitable to be used with either modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants O. Or air containing oil mist. The construction of the hoses has been engineered to exceed that of the OEM fitments and will enhance any engine bay both technically and aesthetically. Testing was completed using a VTEC 4 wheel drive dynamometer, This was to ensure all our data has been achieved with results as accurately as possible by an independent tuner. The results below speak for themselves, also with the added benefit of being a very easy component to fit with no specialist tools this is superb, affordable modification for the BMW enthusiast. From the dyno graph shown, performance gains can be expected from 4500RPM to the red line with +9BHP and +7NM of torque at peak RPM. Not only is FMINLH25 a functional improvement, but with it being available in black and red this product really helps to improve the aesthetics of the engine bay. One major difference of FMINLH25 is the diameter of the hose at the airbox end. Usually this is 85mm diameter, however FMINLH25 is 90mm diameter, and uses a silicone reducer sleeve so that it fits the OEM airbox correctly. This increase of 5mm diameter allows the inlet hose to be used with a wider variety of airbox/intake systems while also increasing the volume and de-restricting the flow of the OEM part.
