Forge Motorsport Inlet Hose for BMW B58 (M140i, M240i, M340i, M440i). When looking at the B58 engine within the M140i/240i/340i/440i engine bay it’s clear that BMW had left some room for modification within the inlet tract, the sound resonator and accordion ribs cause significant turbulence to the airflow causing a detriment to the engine’s potential performance. By removing these, and replacing it with five-ply silicone construction you gain a host of performance upgrades, including. Significant power gain of over 9bhp engine power and 7nm of torque. Multi ply silicone construction improves longevity of FMINLH25 over that of the OEM hose. 5 ply silicone construction will be able to handle strain of engine mapping far better than OEM hose. Fitting with no specialist tools in approximately half an hour. The hoses are suitable to be used with either modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants O. Or air containing oil mist. The construction of the hoses has been engineered to exceed that of the OEM fitments and will enhance any engine bay both technically and aesthetically. Testing was completed using a VTEC 4 wheel drive dynamometer, This was to ensure all our data has been achieved with results as accurately as possible by an independent tuner. The results below speak for themselves, also with the added benefit of being a very easy component to fit with no specialist tools this is superb, affordable modification for the BMW enthusiast. From the dyno graph shown, performance gains can be expected from 4500RPM to the red line with +9BHP and +7NM of torque at peak RPM. This increase of 5mm diameter allows the inlet hose to be used with a wider variety of airbox/intake systems while also increasing the volume and de-restricting the flow of the OEM part. Forge Single Blow Off Valve and Hard Pipe Kit, Suits BMW 335i N54 Twin Turbo. A Forge Motorsport Blow-Off/Dump Valve is designed to be an upgrade to the factory valve. Capable of dealing with higher boost pressures, more reliably designed. Forge also offer the option of an atmospheric valve on many cars. Uprated for higher boost pressures. Replace failure prone factory valves. Option of atmospheric blow-off noise. When you come off the throttle on a turbocharged car the built up charge of pressurized air has to go somewhere. If it can’t, or if the air isn’t released quickly enough, then the turbo will slow down or even stall leading to a delay getting back on boost when you get back on the throttle. This is where a dump valve comes in. It releases the built up pressure. Most cars have a dump valve of some sort fitted from the factory. This will have been tuned for the factory tune and boost levels though. On many cars a soft flexible diaphragm is part of the valve and these wear out. Once the valve is leaking it can cause problems with how the engine functions. Forge Motorsport offer a wide range of uprated dump valves/blow-off valves. These are designed to handle additional boost. Each valve is designed to do a very thorough job of releasing pressure, getting your turbo back on boost fast. For some vehicles, Forge offer a choice of recirculating dump valves and atmospheric dump valves. A recirculating valve is what most cars come fitted with from factory. It discretely recirculates excess air back into the inlet. While there will be no extra noise, the valve will be compatible with increased boost pressure. An atmospheric valve, on the other hand, vents the built up pressure to atmosphere, giving that distinctive whoosh sound. Many modern engines have problems when you switch from recirculating to vent to atmosphere. Forge have, for selected vehicles, engineered a complete solution to try and get around this. This means you can enjoy the sporty blow-off valve noise on a wider range of cars than ever. For many of us that noise is all part of the fun a of a turbocharged car! BMW 135, 335 & 535 N54 Twin Turbo FMDVBM35. Developed specifically for BMW’s all-new N54 twin turbo motor, as found in the BMW 135,335 and 535 models, Forge Motorsport adds another replacement valve application to thier already extensive vehicle specific and universal valve lineup. While virtually identical in operation to the Bosch style valves as used from the factory on many other turbocharged applications, primarily Volkswagen and Audi, BMW has utilized a very different type of valve connection mechanism that makes their product and these replacement components very unique. The entire valve assembly is precision CNC machined from T6-6061 billet aluminum alloy on their very own Mazak CNC milling machines. Again, the valve is an aluminum piston based design, offering significantly improved reliability over the failure prone OEM diaphragm valves, yet with no change to valve response time. Forge utilize ultra high temperature Viton brand silicone o-rings for sealing and Mobil1 fully synthetic bearing grease for lubrication. The valves are fully tunable for both boost holding capacity and response by way of proprietary interchangeable springs and shims (washers to marginally adjust preload). By utilizing this method of valve tuning with multiple custom spring rates, the valves will retain the maximum range of piston travel and flow volume regardless of which spring rate is used. Valves with a singular spring requiring that adjustments be made by continually adding preload will suffer from decreased piston or diaphragm travel as the spring tension is increased. Though these types of valves may hold high boost levels under load, they will actually suffer from limited flow volume at throttle lift when the valve vents. The hoses included in the kit are a custom made multi-layer fabric reinforced flexible silicone hose that are designed to allow compatibility with the stock airbox and charge piping setup without any permanent modification being required to adapt these replacement valves. Even the included hose clamps are overkill. They are specifically designed for use with silicone hoses, utilizing a beveled band edge and a pressed in drive mechanism rather than perforated. They are even approved by NATO for international military use. All told, this direct replacement valve kit will be suitable for a bone stock car to one that is heavily modified. They can be installed on the car right on the showroom floor and they will last well past having upgraded your intake, exhaust, and ECU software. Rest of The World.
